Artist profile: Naamnoi Promchinda
If you like illustrations of Boston terriers, then you will like the adorable work of Naamnoi Promchinda. This artist from Bangkok sketches cute everyday life from her pets and friends to herself! We had a quick chat with her to find out more.
Tell us about yourself.
My given name is Priyasri Promchinda but you can call me Naamnoi for short. I am a Bangkok based illustrator specializing in animal & pet drawings, pet related graphics, character design, comics and mural art :) I pretty much spent most of my childhood with my beloved pets. I also love running races, making tree houses, play hide and seek, climbing trees, riding my BMX, daydreaming and doodling around my house. I went to Faculty of Education Chulalongkorn University in Bangkok, Thailand – I earned a BE (Hons) degree in Art Education.
Tell us more about your art and what inspired you to pursue it?
I started my very first cartoon during Flood crisis in Thailand 2010. My drawing content was positively explained “Flood is Fun” though the eyes of 2 characters; Naamnoi and her dog. I actually would love to share it in my social network. Then I had an idea to use my illustration to help the flood victim; a human and her pet :)
How did you discover our custom watch platform?
This is one of my idea to develop my illustration into a tangible item. I am a watch collector. It’s great to have my illustration as my favorite watch. I found instaWATCH from Instagram.
What was the process of getting your art turned into timepieces like?
I was extremely excited when placing my first order, which was two watches. I currently have three watches for myself, two for my friends and 50 for my online shop.
What are your future plans?
