Hi everyone, meet Paul from Mentor International.
Last November, we announced the #TimeForChange campaign with Mentor International whereby you can now donate 25% from your watch purchase to their foundation and help fund their drug and substance abuse prevention programs amongst the youth and children.
Now, meet the man that was instrumental in making this happen - Paul Rompani, the executive director of Mentor International. We had a quick chat to get to know him:
Tell us more about Mentor and how did you get involve with the organisation?
Mentor members currently work in eight countries to prevent drug use and substance abuse among young people; in Sweden, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, UK, USA, Colombia and Lebanon, which serves the 22 Arab League countries. I joined Mentor International a year ago and truly believe that prevention is the most sustainable solution to combat the global drug abuse crisis. I am really proud to be part of a dynamic and exciting organisation like Mentor International.
How did you get to know about May28th?
Our member in Latvia approached Agni Tilla after reading an article about May28th in a magazine. We were inspired by Agni’s story and felt that creating a partnership between the two organisations made perfect sense. We are really pleased that May28th are passionate about preventing drug use and substance abuse and are thrilled that 25% of the price of watches sold using a Mentor code will be donated to Mentor to support our work.
What do you hope to achieve from this campaign?
We are really excited about our partnership with May28th. We hope this campaign will not only raise essential funds for our work with young people but will also raise awareness of Mentor and the importance of drug prevention.
We are really excited too! This campaign is set to end in November 2014 so if you’d like to contribute in helping youths of today stay clean and lead a healthy lifestyle, support Mentor’s work by purchasing a watch from May28th, enter the code MENTOR25 at the check out and we will do the rest! Thanks to everyone for their support in advance!
And it’s Wednesday again! Time for #watchwednesday where we share stories behind our watch designs!
This week, we would like to share how our 02:28PM design came about. From our brand new Nomad Collection, this two patterned design was inspired by our founder, Agni Tilla’s travels. From the street side motifs and carvings in Bali, Indonesia to the colorful silk weaves in Phnom Penh, Cambodia - Agni finds creativity when she is surrounded by it.
The Nomad Collection is just that - patterns she has found in her travels that we are now making available in our shop! Get this design from the Nomad Collection on our website: http://may28th.me/shop/nomad/all
